England, the Mother of Common Law – UK Law, Lawyers – Characteristics

Common law is law developed by judges through decisions of courts and similar tribunals (also called case law). England is the mother of Common Law, and most of the countries law is written based on the common law of England. Different nations have their own law, and in many cases it differs from one another. Most of the laws in various countries depend on their culture, economy, customs etc.., These laws can also be altered based on various reasons in some nations.

The Common law binds the future decisions in various cases. But, however, judges in various nations have their own liberty to either take previous case studies into consideration, or to create a new proceeding depending on the case, to give right judgment. (If such cases were not solved or not explained earlier)

It’s been said and accepted by many people that “No matter if 100 criminals escape from the eyes of law, but not even one innocent should be punished!” When the population is more under one jurisdiction, there are chances to face more crimes and attempts to escape from being punished. While anyone try to escape, the other, who is an innocent might become a victim of injustice. Any lawyer who handles the case should never let an innocent suffer from being punished!

A person learned in Law, and is eligible to practice law according to the rules of a nation where the person lives is called a Lawyer. Law is a means of changing the wrong, eliminating crimes, delivering Justice, and above all honors Humanity and its safe survival. Anyone in the eyes of law is equal. Justice is not declared by the representative/face of law (Judge) based on the person being rich, any religious, breed, king, senator or a taxi driver. In other words, Law is not limited to a group neither it judge as such.

In recent times, most of the lawyers and judges are facing many criticisms by people/society especially when their friends, siblings etc. are involved in the legal cases they deal. Despite of running behind the facts and false, one should feel himself as a responsible representative of law, and act accordingly. Here, when I say “representative of law, I mean to say lawyers and judges, as they should represent law and justice, not their clients.
